Owls Class

Year 1 and Year 2 are a fantastic group of friendly, happy and motivated pupils. The children are offered a wide range of opportunities that will enable them to reach their full potential in every aspect of school life. Underpinning all our work are our Christian values.

Teamwork is a very strong focus and children work on a regular basis in mixed ability groups to learn about team building, job sharing and collaborative planning. The Year 2 pupils are empowered by the opportunity to support Year 1 learners. Owls Class work closely with EYFS and offer excellent transition arrangements.

The teaching and learning of the curriculum in Year 1 and Year 2 is delivered in a creative and cross curricular manner. We aim to provide exciting lessons, visits and guest speakers to stimulate a natural enthusiasm to learn and develop as a whole person. There is an emphasis on why we are learning something and how it can be applied in the real life.

Reception Year 1 Year 2 Topic Term 6 2017

We had an amazing trip to Dobbies Garden Centre, where we learned lots of fantastic facts about our topic – Plants.  We planted some runner beans, a pansy, played a matching seed to flower game and had a look around at all the wonderful plants.

Thank you so much to Raelene and Amy at Dobbies for a lovely day.

We made leaf people!

We used fruit, vegetables and cheese to make our solar system.  Can you tell which piece of food, represents which planet?
