The Partnership Teaching School works in partnership with Bath Spa University to deliver Initial Teacher training (ITT).
School Direct is a new programme originally proposed in the 2011 Department for Education (DfE) ITT strategy paper ‘Training our next generation of outstanding teachers’ and is intended to help schools take a leading role in ITT. It allows schools, or groups of schools, to apply to the Teaching Agency (TA) to be able to offer an ITT place, which they then work with an accredited ITT provider to deliver.
School Direct at the Partnership Teaching School (TPTS) & Alliance Schools
The TPTS has bid for a number of School Direct places for the academic year 2014-2015. Places have been requested for Primary and Secondary trainees. This is open to all graduates* and is funded by tuition fees paid by the trainees, who may receive a bursary from the National College for Teaching & Leadership. At present the TPTS does not offer places for salaried route School Direct training.
